The 7.2 Richter scale earthquake that struck on the morning of April 3, 2024, disrupted the Ching Ming holiday, and has affected you and me.
At such a time, many people may find themselves feeling or reacting differently than usual.
For example, nervousness, agitation, irritability, easy to feel tired, easy to think, body stiffness or numbness….
All of these reactions are normal.
These reactions usually settle down or improve over a few days or weeks.
But There are still a few things that we can try to help ourselves and others to get back to peace of mind :
KEEP SAFE→ Make sure you are safe and don’t over-receive negative messages.
CONNECT FAMILY & FRIENDS→ Keep in touch with family, teachers and friends.
CALM DOWN → If you have a faith, seek the support of your faith, meditate and relax, listen to soothing music.
EMPOWER YOURSELF → Do things that make you feel comfortable and in control, such as exercise.
RELIVE HOPES→ Avoid beating yourself up, learn to look at things from different perspectives, try to care for others, and have hope for a peaceful day ahead.
The Counseling Center provides an online peace of mind website, and you are welcome to make use of it !
